The written assignment involves an analysis of the articles indicated above. Your write-up should answer the two questions stated below in no more than five pages (12 points, double spaced). Your write-up should be clear, concise and convincing. The paper is due Monday, November 30th midnight. [Get hard copy delivered in Room 1223, RCB]

- What are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to Indian economy?

- How do Infosys and Fiat-Tata Alliance cases inform business planning in India?

 

In order to address these questions, you might want to tackle the following issues:

- What has liberalization in 1991 achieved for the Indian economy and its growth?

- What are limitations that weaken the economy or obstruct its growth potential?

- What opportunities does this Indian economy today offer businesses / industries?

- What is needed to provide this emerging market stability and economic power?

- What characterizes successful businesses inspite of the constraints in India, if any?

- What kinds of businesses would you consider developing given the cases studied?

 

Your write-up could include an introduction stating the issues you are going to analyze and then two sections. The first section could analyze the economy and offer a SWOT analysis while the second section could employ these strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to suggest what makes for successful businesses and their planning in India. A conclusion could restate the punch line of your analysis.
