When I first heard about water birth, it seemed like such an incredible experience that I wanted to know as much about it as possible and experience it for myself. That's why, once I did have a water birth, I wanted to share the possibility with others. Renting a birthing tub has been one way I could encourage this amazing experience.

I found that water birth is a safe and wonderful natural option for enhancing the birthing experience. The advantages for birthing in water include:

• Pain reduction and relaxation
• Weight reduction which can help maintain stamina and a variety of positions
• Gentle birth
• Privacy/Personal space

True birthing tubs or jacuzzis have many advantages over "kiddie" pools. Some of the advantages of a true birthing tub such as the Aquadoula® Spa include:

• Safe consistent temperature - a built in heater and thermostat maintain a safe and consistent temperature for any amount of time.
• Hygenic liner - the Aquadoula® comes with a disposable liner which also assists in cleanup.
• Sturdy support - The Aquadoula® spa is designed to take the weight of the mother leaning on the sides. It will never collapse.

Rental Information

If you live in the Atlanta area and would like to rent my birthing tub for home birth use, please contact me.

Rental is $200 for a one month rental starting around the 38th week. $50 of the fee given in advance will reserve the tub. Items needed for setup - a garden hose. Everything else is included - including a disposable liner. A small net may be helpful for cleaning.

I currently do not rent for hospital use.
