Montessori Contact Information
Marla
earned her AMI (Association
Montessori Internationale) certificate to teach
Primary Montessori in the summer of 2005 from the Montessori Institute of
Atlanta. She has been a Montessori parent and has been a lead teacher for
9+ years. She also has experience as a substitute assistant at various
Montessori schools in the Atlanta area. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in
Mathematics from Hendrix
College in Conway, Arkansas and a Master of Science in Mathematics from Clemson University in
South Carolina. She is married to Dr. Satish Nargundkar who is a professor in
the College of Business at Georgia State University and has a son, Nikhil,
who attends Kennesaw State University. Marla
attended a four week introduction to Sensory Processing Disorders with Christy Kennedy,
OTR/L and integrates activities in the classroom to help children
regulate their energy and levels of calmness/focus. She also attended a five
week course in the summer of 2012 for Supporting
Children with Special Needs in the Montessori Classroom from the Center
for Guided Montessori Studies. Tree
of Life Montessori School is a home-based Montessori school located near the
intersection of Chamblee-Tucker Rd and I-85 in Doraville.
